Connie Phillips Insurance is proud to celebrate our 37th anniversary of providing best-in-class insurance in the Mid-Atlantic region. Ever since our founding in 1986, CPI has been in the forefront of the industry, offering excellent customer service, outstanding coverage options and competitive pricing.
From our humble beginnings, we have grown to serve clients in Maryland, Virginia, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, North Carolina, West Virginia, Florida and Arizona.
What was happening in 1986?
Ronald Reagan was president, a gallon of gas cost 86 cents, Martin Luther King Jr. was honored with a federal holiday in his name, the Space Shuttle Challenger exploded 73 seconds after being launched, the first anti-smoking ad appeared on TV, home mortgage interest rates hovered around 10%, a reactor in the Chernobyl power plant exploded, releasing radioactive material across Europe, Halley’s Comet came (relatively) close to Earth (a mere 39 million miles away), and Connie Phillips Insurance was opened.

Service to our community: Bears for Kids’ Fears

Karl Brink, CPI Vice President, writes,
“Recently I witnessed an incident on the street in front of our office. The fear on the children’s faces was traumatic. After the children were each given a bear, a smile appeared on their face. This brought tears to my face. This was a blessing to all of us.” Connie, Karl & Connie Phillips Insurance started a drive to collect bears for children that are caught in the middle of a domestic dispute, car accident or other auto issues. The traumatic fear of these children is heightened by the presence of the police officer. Remember your own or your child’s first Pooh or Teddy. |
| These bears are donated to the Frederick City and Frederick County police departments. Officers carry the bears in their patrol cars. A sizable donation of bears was also made to Frederick Health Hospital, for the kids in their Pediatric Emergency Department.

| Connie E Phillips, CIC, EBP, CIRMS has been recognized by The Society of Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) for her 35 years of committed professional leadership and advanced knowledge. Connie earned the designation through a series of rigorous examinations and has maintained the designation by annual attendance at an approved CIC continuing education program.
Earning her CIC designation and maintaining all update requirements for 35 years, places Ms. Phillips in the top one percent of all insurance professionals in the country. “The high standard maintained by Connie not only benefits Connie Phillips Insurance, Inc, but the insurance profession as a whole” said Dr. William T.
